All das was

pleased to be able to do this big step, entering now a level, which had not been
reached up to now.
In a next step and if this concept is working
out successfully, it is the target of the three partners to offer and to role
this concept out to the international Best Western arena and more locations in
Germany. Further information would follow than in due coarse.
For your information: All participating Hotels,

Klein Nienhagen Estate, Kroepelin, June 24,
2009
“Experience Change!” is the motto of the EAHAE’s Fifth Annual Conference.
Horse Assisted Seminars Convey Values in Times of Change.
The fifth annual conference of the European Association for Horse Assisted
Education (EAHAE) will be taking place on the Klein Nienhagen Estate near
the Baltic sea resorts of Heiligendamm, Kühlungsborn and Rerik, from
September 11-13, 2009. The hosts are Gerhard and Karin Krebs & team, from G
& K HorseDream GmbH, the pioneers of horse assisted further education, who
moved to the Baltic sea last October.
The organizers are expecting around 80 trainers and seminar providers who
are interested in, or already working with horses in management training in
the field of human resources and personal development. The majority of those
already registered for the conference, come from Germany, where
approximately 40% of the EAHAE members originate. Further registrations for
this seminar come from Europe, Australia and America.
The EAHAE was founded in 2004 and now claims 200 members worldwide. It is a
non-profit platform for information, communication, education and
certification as well as for research and publications. You can join the
organisation as an associated member and after completing a certification
seminar, you can become a full member. The EAHAE’s vision is to establish
horse assisted training as part of management training for managers and
teams in corporations and institutions, as well as in the field of personal
self-development.
Since the last EAHAE conference held in Poland last year, the organization
has taken a big step forward in realising its vision. This can be seen by
the growing list of large, middle-sized and small companies that have taken
part in horse assisted seminars in various countries around the globe. It is
also shown by the increase in the various scientific writings on diverse
topics concerning the content of horse assisted seminars.
Horse assisted trainings run by full members of EAHAE are based on a values
and emotional learning concept that enables experiential and self-determined
learning in Leading and Communication. Among other things, it is about
building trust, believing in yourself and others, commanding respect and
respecting others, recognizing and reaching goals, consciously approaching
barriers and overcoming them, overcoming fears and asserting oneself – while
at the same time working carefully with power.
The conference is preceded by a Horse Assisted Change Management Seminar
from September 10-11, 09. A Train-the-Trainer Seminar is held at the
conclusion of the Conference, from September 14-15. 09. The cost of the
complete program, namely, from September 9 through 15, 2009,
including meals and accommodation, is €2580 (not including VAT).
The conference is held in English.

Leadership Crisis – CAN horses PROVIDE the answer?
Windsor Company bring global horse sense to the UK

 |
Gordon Brown, Sir Fred Goodwin and many others leaders are
struggling with the leadership challenges emerging from the current climate.
Some are driven by greed, some by fear and many just running around like
headless chickens not sure what to do; they all have one thing in common
they do not demonstrate a flexible leadership style that enables them
to adapt to a rapidly changing environment, get buy in from their followers
and lead strongly forward for the good of all.
So what do horses have to do with leadership;
simply put
they are
masters of sustainable, flexible and effective leadership. They have been
demonstrating it for the last 5 million years.
Windsor Company Acorns2Oaks and German based HorseDream have
partnered to bring a powerful and profound leadership development programme
to the UK. Both ACORNS2OAKS
and HorseDream have an
impressive track record of bringing “Horse Assisted Education” to
organisations throughout Europe. Their clients include Cisco Systems, SAP,
Allied Irish Bank, CAP Gemini, Proctor and Gamble, Nokia, McDonald's, Generali,
Würth Elektronik and AOL Germany. This new partnership is the first of many
spreading throughout Europe.
David Harris founder of ACORNS2OAKS
says” The leadership
learning from the horses is the most effective, flexible and sustainable
available. Together with HorseDream we have taken many hundreds of corporate
leaders through our programmes and we always get amazing learning and
results. Organisations often come back again and again. The partnership with
HorseDream means we can now provide consistent programmes to a high standard
and quality throughout Europe. This is a very attractive proposition to
European companies.” ACORNS2OAKSare the first of the “HorseDream” partners
to run “HorseDream Partner Licensed Workshops” outside of Germany.
So what is “Horse Assisted Education ” (H.A.E.)
HAE is a powerful training modality that utilises the
leadership skills of horses to enable people to learn these skills at a
profound level. Course participants work with the horses in carefully
constructed exercises
to hone existing skills and develop new ones. The
horses provide fast, simple feedback to the participant on their leadership
performance. This facilitates very fast and profound learning.
About Acorns2Oaks
Acorns2Oaks
is
an organisation focused on
delivering high quality, profound learning experiences for individuals and
companies. Since 2003 they have delivered their Equine Guided Development
programmes to over 500 people. These programs enable participants to learn
effective, sustainable skills in leadership which are instantly integrated.
What makes these programmes so special is the learning takes place with
horses in safe, trusting and open environments.
David Harris (Acorns2Oaks founder) , left his corporate role
(MD of a large software consultancy) in 2002 to establish Acorns 2 Oaks
Coaching Limited. He is a Natural Horseman, NLP Master Practitioner, PCC
Coach and leadership specialist.

News from
Horse & Soul |
Newly
developed character analysis
In March and in May 2009 we tested and experienced the
application of the basic exercises within the HorseDream Concept in a Newly
developed character analysis. For this purpose we held two seminars, each
with 8 participants: women and men in job-related reorientation, some of
them with the intent of becoming entrepreneurs and starting up their own
business. The seminars were part of a potential analysis which was conducted
to find out the participants` personality traits, individual strengths and
talents that are relevant for professional development.
We created a chart with entrepreneurial characteristics,
such as risk taking, self-discipline, capability for conflict management,
leadership and many others. The characteristics we chose are significant not
only for start-ups but for each kind of professional change, i.e. career
entry, career advancement, repositioning in teams, change of job, etc..
In five horse assisted exercises the participants had to
meet new challenges, accept the horses' feedback and afterwards give
feedback to each other. The horses perceived the slightest nuances in the
participants` personal skills and reflected them accurately - and challenged
every person adequately to what she or he performed. In additionto the individual
empowerment, trust and respect in the participants - which happens
in each of our horse assisted seminars anyway - we were able to monitor the
personal skills of every person according to the chart as described above.
For each personal skill that could be observed we assessed our observations
on a scale between „weak“ and „strong“ - only if our team of three coaches
came to a similar appraisal.
In contrast to our horse assisted team and leadership
seminars there were no theory models and no discussions in this character
assessment, besides short feedback circles after every practical exercise.
We took video recordings not for discussion but for documentary purposes
only. Therefore the whole assessment for 8 participants, including the
monitoring of the personal skills, could be conducted within 7 hours.
Our experience shows that the horse assisted character
assessment works well and delivers valuable results for the participants
themseves as well as for the authorizing institution. Horse assisted
character assessment is a new service for graduates, trainees, prospective
entrepreneurs and for everybody in professional change.
We like to share experiences in this topic with everybody
who is involved in staff selection, personal and professional development
and in relating programmes.
